Hello GRGC! This is Caitlin O’Toole with her first blog post! So exciting! For those who don’t know me, I am a senior in the tour choir and I will be frequently blogging about our rehearsals, and random what-nots about GRGC.
I would like to start out my first blog by telling some of the highlights of this past Thursday’s rehearsal! First of all, those who paid $1.50 earlier got a sample bag and fund-raising form for our bag/purse fundraiser!! The bags and patterns are sooo cute. I have already shown some of my friends the bags and they are all over it! Seriously, I think my friends are literally going to buy 200 things each. It’s awesome.
Secondly, Emily Christensen brought in a sample of chocolate frosting made out of black beans. Yes, you read it right, black beans. Apparently there is no fat and it tastes amazing! The recipe is posted below for those who want to give it a try, but keep in mind to have some Beano handy
The third and final thing that I thought was important to mention (which Mrs. Rawson has already mentioned five thousand times before) is to pleeeease practice. Sometimes after Thursday rehearsal, we tend to forget about the music for the night and then we put it off until 10 minutes before rehearsal starts. Well this is just your weekend reminder! Tomorrow night, when you’re doing your homework and stressing over all those projects you have put off till the last minute, pull out “Up On the Mountain Shouting” or “My Soul’s Been Anchored in the Lord” or anything, and just groove in your room by yourself and dance while you practice. Trust me, it is so much fun. Especially when you get your animals involved. Now there’s a party.
Thanks so much for reading and post below how the groovy party goes!
-Caitlin

(PS here is the recipe:
Press in a food processor until finely ground:
1 cup black beans, drained and rinsed
3/4 cup cocoa powder
1 1/2 cup powdered sugar
Add: 1 t vanilla
1-3 T milk or soy milk until desired thickness is reached
Blend until smooth)
